Tomar é uma cidade de grande encanto, pela sua riqueza artística e cultural. O expoente máximo está no Convento de Cristo, um das mais importantes obras do Renascimento em Portugal. Qualquer que seja o motivo para visitar a cidade, subir ao castelo templário e descobrir a obra monumental do Convento de Cristo é imprescindível. A partir do Convento, podemos descer a pé pela Mata dos Sete Montes até ao centro histórico. Indo pela estrada, vemos a meio do percurso a Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, uma pequena joia renascentista, obra do português João de Castilho que também trabalhou no Convento. Para descansar do passeio cultural, nada como uma pausa no Parque do Mouchão! É um lugar fresco, onde se pode ver a Roda do Mouchão, uma roda hidráulica em madeira. É um ex-libris da cidade e evoca os tempos em que os moinhos, os lagares e as áreas de cultivo ao longo do rio contribuíam para a prosperidade económica de Tomar. #ref:M 418
