    The 'salt-colored house' is located in front of the so-called Mira canal, on the Costa Nova do Prado. This place by the salinity of its waters and surrounding vegetation, the colors and odors that emanate, refer to an atmosphere of marine nature. 'Idealizing and conceiving the project of my house brought me a huge challenge. In fact, I condensed in myself the creative figure of architect and likewise the usufructuary figure of a demanding client. At first, the conflict of the figures obscured the clarity and objectivity necessary for the conception, however, with time and with the maturation of some aspects of the project, the result was, in my humble opinion, doubly achieved. But other challenges had to be solved. The sharing of the same space with another person, my wife, generated compulsions and distinct concerns within the framework of the idiosyncrasies of each one, namely, how they wanted to inhabit and live the house. The materials chosen for the construction, revolutionized in ceramics, woods, aluminum. In the colors white predominated as the primary element of the whole house, salting it in almost all its nooks and crannies with white canasters. It was fundamental to create an intimate relationship between the inside and the outside. To this end, an interior courtyard was designed in order to create a bridge with the south façade of the house and to achieve a gambiarra of natural light for all its compartments. Half floors were created, so that the basement floor was not exposed to possible flooding by the rise of the water table and that the vertical dynamics existed between the floors. The social zone was located on the upper floor, this area, wide and with a very generous direct foot with eyes thrown to the estuary. Space to receive family and friends on festive days, articulated with the roof terrace, lighthouse of the house where you can enjoy a more direct and surrounding view over the estuary.
